Beginning in the mid-1970's, B.I.D. began developing quality award programs based on the criteria of the QC·100, a model of Total Quality Management (TQM). The International Quality Award is recognized internationally as a pattern model. Since its inception, many groups of businesses representing large numbers of employees have participated in the B.I.D. Quality Award process. In addition, other independent persons, Chairmen and CEO's, along with engineers, physicists, mathematicians, professionals from different areas in both public and private institutions have contributed many suggestions to strengthen the International Quality BID Award.
BID organizes quality conventions to transmit quality culture to companies around the world. The conventions take place in renowned places in Paris, New York, Frankfurt, Geneva and London. The attendees are professionals from many different sectors that strive to improve business models by implementing state-of-the-art quality models.
The engineers Federico Neussner, Antonino Martínez and Enrique Llorente, along with the President of Business Initiative Directions, José E. Prieto, direct BID's permanent council in charge of continuous improvement of the QC100 model, in collaboration with a highly qualified team of engineers whose experience allow constant update of the TQM.
