Chivas Regal is a Premium Scotch whisky produced in Strathisla, Speyside, Scotland. The brand was founded by the Chivas brothers in 1801, who founded the distillery. The brothers received their first Royal Warrant in 1843. All Chivas Regal blended whiskies are aged for at least twelve years and is one of the best selling premium whiskies in the world. The name "Chivas" comes from Gaelic seamhas, meaning lucky, or blessed with fortune. Chivas Regal 12 Year Old: A honeyed fruity whisky with a rich taste and creamy smoothness Chivas Regal Gold Signature 18 Year Old: Opulent richness, from whiskies matured for at least 18 years. A welcoming, rewarding whisky. Exceptional richness with multi-layered aromas of buttery toffee, dark chocolate and dried fruits. Hints of spices and smoke. Chivas Regal 25 Year Old: Created using rare, aged whiskies of at least 25 years, Chivas Regal 25 is available only in limited quantities with a selling price of around $300. The blend has tasting notes of apricot and peach.
Chivas Regal has sponsored the website www.thisisthelife.com for a few years. Here, many travel experiences are reviewed and updated by users. In June 2007, off the back of this sponsorship, Chivas Regal entered into a partnership with MSN in the United States. ‘This is the life’ broadband TV channel was launched.
Chivas Regal sponsors many events around the world. The Chivas Life Series consists of a number of events including snow golf. The snow golf tournament is played in the snow in locations such as St Moritz, Switzerland and La Parva, Chile. Both professional, amateurs and celebrity golfers participate in these annual events.
Chivas Regal sponsored the China team sailing in the 2007 America’s Cup – competing for the first time for the trophy- recently held in Valencia, Spain. Chivas Regal is involved in music in many of its markets around the world. The brand recently sponsored The Black Eyed Peas, Robbie Williams, and Christina Aguilera’s tours in Asia. The USA and Spain constructed temporary spaces called The Chivas Studio, where live concerts and tastings of the whisky are held.
