Formed in 1899 as "Westfälische Metall-Industrie Akt.-Gesellschaft", the brandname "Hella" was created in 1908. In 2004 total annual turnover for Hella was 3,141 million Euro.
Their lighting equipment is used by a wide variety of vehicle makers worldwide, including Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Daimler AG, Porsche, Volkswagen, Ford, and General Motors. Hella also has a range of aftermarket products such as fog lamps, upgrade headlamps, and modular brake and signal lamps.
